Alien Technology for the Medieval Mind

This is a Fantasy Adventure, I swear!

I'm a little ahead in the process of creating the adventure than I have had time to blog about.  This is an example of the layout and some of the art I have already created.

This is a two page spread that I have worked out for one of the locations (rooms) in the "tech" level of the dungeon. The Mysterious chamber serves as a "virtual reality" training simulator and indoctrinates the characters in the use of alien weapons and technology through what is essentially a "small science fiction adventure module" with the adventure itself.

My idea for this section came from an old FUDGE "one shot" I put together for my players many years ago. The characters will have to storm a factory on a remote planet, using Ta'ak vehicles and weaponry, and as Ta'ak themselves. It will take several attempts to reach the planet's surface, as the players find their characters jettisoned from space in disposable power armor. Death in the simulation will not result in character death. In fact it is quite enjoyable. The simulation chamber is not intended for training at all, but for recreation. The Ta'ak place death in combat above all else, and each simulated death places the "user" in a state of euphoria.

Characters will find that they quickly "respawn". Not being designed for denizens of the fantasy genre, there will be some glitches, and the characters will only be able to understand what they are experiencing from their individual perspectives.
